The first consideration when buying the classic car of your choice
has to be condition. Once that has been settled though, it is nice
if the car has a good history and documentation. This original UK
TF has an excellent file, and also happens to be in great condition.
Boxes ticked. We know that the first owner was a lady in Preston.
The 2nd owner, a Mr. Gorick, owned the car in 1957. There are letters
on file from him stating that he would love to buy the car back sometime,
as it would bring back many happy memories. There are many black &
white photos on file of the car in this period, shown with a pretty
young thing (please draw you own conclusions here). In the late 1970s
the car went though the hands of Paradise Garage in London and was
sold in 1980 to a Mr. Postle, for the princely sum of £ 6,000.
He then would appear to have rebuilt the car (at least partially).
Again there are lots of invoices and letter’s on file.
The previous owner bought the car in 1993. This time the car was rebuilt
properly from bare chassis. Looking at previous MOT’s it would
seem that the car only covered some 5,000 mls from 1980 to the present
day. In recent times the car has enjoyed a “top up” restoration
with engine rebuild and lots of other excellent work. Two rebuilds
in under twenty years sounds a bit excessive I know. Having met the
owner and also the restorer we know that this is reflection of their
love of the car, and fastidious nature, rather than any shortcomings
with the original work. And who will benefit from all this care and
expense – well you could!
This is a truly lovely TF that requires nothing but the open road,
and a decent picnic. It has only been sold as business commitments
simply prevented the owner from enjoying the car as it deserves. Go
on – put some miles on it.

and commentary of the car.
