MG MAGNETTE ZB 1956
This excellent Twilight Grey ZB Magnette has a large history file which includes both owner's and workshop manuals as well as invoices, previous registration documents etc. It is believed to be a four owner car. There are photographs of a restoration which we understand was carried out in the late 1990's, although this is not particularly documented. The previous owner purchased the car as a 4 speed in 2011 from our friends at Moto-Build in Egham.
In 2013 the car was converted to 5 speed via a Sierra Type 9 gearbox and Hi-Gear conversion kit. This is well documented. The conversion transforms all sorts of MGs from T types though MGAs and Magnettes. It's not particularly cheap to do, but well worth the outlay.
Today the car presents and drives really well with good leather, lovely wood dashboard, trims and carpets. A tidy engine bay too. It has clearly been a cherished car that has covered a modest mileage in recent years, and possibly from new. The recorded mileage is 70,809 mls. These are well appointed cars with great style and a touch of zing!

The Magnette had unitary construction, independant front suspension and rack & pinion steering. Quite a modern car in fact.
The B Series 4 cylinder 1500cc engine on twin SU carburettors had enough go, and they were fun cars to drive.
Produced between 1963 & 1968 in ZA, ZB and Varitone versions.
